So it looks like I’ll be moving Sunday….

So it looks like I’ll be moving Sunday. Anyone wanna help?

But yeah, going back to dad’s while he recovers from the surgery. I’m expecting a stay of less than a year, but who knows. We’ve been working on my old room for the past few weeks. The room will be 100% different than it was last time I was there. For those who have seen it before, here’s what you’re missing:

The Walls

Before: (3 walls) Baby Yellow floral print, (1 wall) yellow shag carpet

After: (3 walls) White w/ grey trim, (1 wall) (former carpeted wall) paneling painted grey

The Carpet

Before: Yellow Shag

After: Grey-blue

The Closet

Before: Two sliding wooden doors

After: Two curtains hung on a rod, backlit by tube-lighting around inner frame

The Furniture

Before: Whatever I had access to

After: ALL IKEA!!!

The Lighting

Before: Two yellow, upside-down, bowl-shaped, lace, sunflower-esque chandeliers

After: Two clusters of three 40w ceiling spotlights by IKEA

The Result

Before: A room fit for a baby girl

After: Just a kick ass room for your average not-so-average guy.

I’m hoping this will finally be the last step in my involuntary metamorphosis and I can go on living somewhat normally again.

God, help make a dream come true. I’ve only ever asked for but one dream. I can finally be more specific with the details, now. Don’t let it fade away. Don’t tease me anymore with your wisdom and chaos. With it, I’ve already learned enough for a lifetime.

Oh yes! And I realized I want to open a store that only sells odd lamps. I love them so much but I can’t imagine a business of that nature surviving. I’d have a blast buying and selling them nonetheless.
