Catching up

I

know it’s been quite a while since my last blog. Like you missed me… but I had some things I should document.

Obviously I made it back from Chicago in one piece. The bus ride there and back were horrendous. I don’t think it’s possible for Greyhound to be anywhere near on schedule. I was delayed 4 hours by the time I arrived in Chicago. Good thing I left myself plenty of time before arrival and showtime.

Speaking of show time, here’s my review on the Tally Hall show and their amazing studio debut album. The show was indeed great. They couldn’t have rocked it much better.

I am addicted to Guitar Hero for PS2 — but I do not own it so I am making Jamal come over often so he can bring his copy over and I can rock out. I’m not too bad, either! I’m thinking it will be good practice for playing the bass.

My old friend Phil Shull may be putting his old band, The Remnants, back together. (how ironic) Back when I was in Currently BLEU, my bassist Andrew was brothers with Steve who was in The Remnants. We all hung out a bunch at Dennys. I loved their music. So back to my story…. Phil is putting the band back together and if successful, he wants me to play bass for them. I’ve never played bass aside from a tinkering here and there. What the hell?! But he thinks I can do it and wants me in the band somehow. Since they already have a singer and don’t really need a full-time keyboardist, he wants me to fill the only void they have… a bassist.

Meanwhile, I’m talking with another band who really wants me as their singer. I haven’t met with them yet, but we’ll see how it goes. They seem to have a maturity in them that surpasses most of the other bands that have been interested in me, plus they seem to share a common vision with me and between each other. I hope they play well — because from everything else I’ve heard about them, I’m thinking we could actually make this work.

I can’t believe I’m about to say this. I really can’t.
I’m working for Ritz Camera again. I actually have to get to bed in a minute to ensure I’m not late for my first day tomorrow. It’s only part-time, but we know during the holidays, it’ll be pretty much full-time hours. I need money. Quick. I’m all out and they were the only place I could think of that I might get hired on the spot. I did. More on this, elsewhere, later.

It’s late. I must get to bed.

Be Back Soon

I

won’t be getting any emails but you might still be able to find me on AIM due to my snazzy new cell phone. I’m leaving today at 2pm and returning Monday at around 2pm. Wish me luck!

Hot Cars in Chicagoooo…

T

ime for a random quote from a mini-conversation with Dan today.

We’re sitting on the couch watching a commercial for Bodog, some online poker website. It features nothing but some tall blonde in a skimpy outfit, sitting in a classic Mustang and some guy walking around it (I can’t remember).

Dan: What?! What was that for?

Me: An online gambling site.

Dan: What the hell does online gambling have to do with a girl and a hot car?

Me: …uh… You mean “hot girl and a car” right?

———psst! Dan’s a little too car-obsessed!———

Oh my god, I’ve gone and done something a little crazy.
Tally Hall is having their CD release party in Chicago on November 12th. Yeah, I decided I’m going. I’ll be taking a Greyhound out there and staying at a Days Inn. It’s all planned out. No turning back now! Eeek. I’m currently mapping it all out because it’s a little scary going all alone.

But I’m doing it.
