nd the book says, “We may be through with the past, but the past ain’t through with us.”

The other night I came across something I thought I’d never see again. I thought I lost it a long, long time ago. I was simply trying to organize my new hard drives, preparing for another crash which may or may not ever happen. And sitting there in a lonely, dusty old directory, were all these archives of AIM conversations. The hacked version of AIM I had at the time automatically did it. Among them were the very first conversations that Lee Anne and I had. I was elated to find them and it was so good to sink into that comforting wave again — even for an hour. So grand, it was, to re-live that moment of pure exhileration as you converse with someone you know is changing your life forever as you speak to them. I learned change occurs so quickly. Leaves can change colors in minutes. And surprises can be good pizza.

So there’s that. At least I have that.
