The Sky Is Falling
I
t figures. I finally have that middle room pretty much done, preparing for the carpet to be installed in a week, and something goes horribly wrong. Coming through the middle of the ceiling, seeping down from the light fixture, was a bucket full of water... ALL OVER MY BRAND NEW COFFEETABLE. Soaking wet, I was able to dry it off but I think it's been damaged a bit. I'm hoping to not find the ceiling fall down in pieces when I come home today. The shower, which has been draining slower and slower over the past few months finally hit its slowest point and the old pipes just couldn't hold on to the water long enough. So the new paint job on the ceiling was in vain. I haven't spoken with the plumber yet but I'm assuming he's gonna have to tear up the newly repaired ceiling to repair the leaky pipes -- not to mention get whatever clog is up there out of there. A whole bottle of Drain-o didn't phase it. A plunger didn't phase it. I'm just so glad it was before the new carpet went down. I really am disappointed and scared of spending the money on it because my unemployment funds have run out and aside from the "new carpet" silver lining, this couldn't have happened at a worse time.
