And here you have it. cozbaldwin.com v8.

Some may see a resemblance to another design of mine. I wanted to take from it and make something better. I hope I did.

Let me know what you think and feel free to browse the site and see some little changes here and there. The artwork has been combined into one page and is much more uniform. Let me know if you find any errors, too. And don’t forget to leave your mark on the world in my GuestMap.

In other news, I never even got to blog that my dad came home last Saturday. However, he was admitted back into the hospital today because he really shouldn’t be at home. He’s not doing well at all. More later…

Some people cry. I create.

New site design coming… stay tuned.

Sara Fulton has died.

I think many of you regular readers have met her on at least one occasion. Some may only know her as the girl I wrote that old corny song “Whisper In My Ear” about. But she was a friend of mine for the past 5 years. And it’s only been a few hours since I’ve heard the news myself. I’m kind of in a world of disbelief at the moment. Kind of lost.

I don’t have a cause at the moment. Probably heart complications… Maybe?

As I look around my life and the people in it, seeing a few close to death, SHE was not who I was expecting. My friends, run away from me. I must be cursed. A friend of Coz is one step closer to their grave. This has been proven four times now. Six, if you count in family.

I wish you all could have heard her sing. She was one of the best singers I’ve ever known. We met at The Point over 5 years ago. She sang acapella at open mic night. I was thoroughly impressed. We’ve been holding open mic events at her house over the past year. Last Thursday, she paid for a band to play a feature show. We’ve had some great times there. Last Thursday was one of the best nights we’ve had. And she was fine. It was good. I’m happy for her.

Whisper In My Ear

The weeks go by so fast,

yet the months go on so long.

But time for me stands still,

when you start to sing your song.

Your words surround me like the sky,

they’re deeper than the ocean.

They seep into my body,

oh how I can feel their emotion.

And how I wish you could see

exactly what you do to me.

[When / Every time] you sing your song.

Angel with a voice that could stir the windows in heaven,

let me in your heart.

Angel with a voice that could make a rose shed a tear,

whisper in my ear.

Let me know your dreams.

Let me inside your Zen Garden.

Let me know if it hurt you,

when you fell down from heaven.

My dad came home from the rehab facility on Saturday morning. We have an electric hospital bed in a room downstairs because he can’t get up the stairs to his bedroom. His life is now downstairs. Weak, in constant pain, tired, and in worse shape than when he first went in to the hospital, he is visited by a nurse and a physical therapist multiple times a week now. But he’s home…

Calgon, take me away…

The simple truth is…

Faith is nothing more than a defense mechanism. Having faith in something is not a bad thing, though, as long as you realize it’s just your belief and that doesn’t make it a fact. It’s a hard pill to swallow, but faith is you not wanting to own up to the fact that you don’t know. Sometimes, not knowing is a scary thing. Sometimes, it can drive one mad. So we create these illusions, these temporary truths, these beliefs we stick in our hats and call it macaroni faith.

The simple truth is…

We are all living in a world we know so little about. We go through life with false hopes which cause disappointments and mistakes resulting in regrets. We tread through puddles not ready to be tread through. But some puddles are meant to be disturbed. Some are sitting there waiting for something to mix it up. Sometimes, we take a risk and end up on top. Sometimes, we get a free ride to the top. There’s no telling, no matter how much you think you know.

The simple truth is…

All we know is that we don’t know. And it’s OK, because you have little control over what’s about to happen to you anyway. So take as much control as you can and do whatever it is that makes you happiest. God damn it.

“Life is too short to wear tight shoes.” I get it now.

You are going to die within 2 months.

If I told you that, would you believe me? I doubt it. But if you did, what would you do?

We’ve all said “hey, you know we could die tomorrow.” But we’ve never listened to ourselves. What if we did? Your life is over soon. Mine too. So what would you do if you were going to die within 2 months?

This is directed to all of you, with a particular few in mind.

What do you expect will happen when your time is up? Another chance? Another “go”? A better shot? Give me a fucking break. If we all lived our one life (one = 1) with this type of thinking, we may go insane with pressure….. OOOORRRRR……. we may just live with no regrets and in the end, know we couldn’t have done it any better. It’s your call. It’s your only opportunity. We breathe and we breathe and we breathe and we breathe and we die. Unexpectedly. Unplanned.

Those shoes you wear are too tight. Don’t dare complain when your feet are aching for the rest of your one (one = 1) life.

Wanna hear me sing karaoke? This is me singing Tool’s “Sober”.

Click here, and wait awhile: “SOBER”

Speaking of pictures, I’ve added a bunch of new pictures to the Biography page. They’re now in a slideshow format. Enjoy!

Dad still in rehab. Me still in Philly. Everyone relying on me… can’t even rely on myself. No time. No energy. Need a vacation. Need to see that movie “Garden State.”

Really… really need to get away.

It was my dad’s birthday today (the 4th).

He spent it by being released from the hospital into a rehab facility where he’ll be for, I’m expecting, another week or two.

Here’s one of the funniest pictures of me. I think. This is what Delaware, beer, and karaoke can do to you… if you’re not careful.

EDIT: Just to clarify, I wasn’t drunk during the taking of this picture. I was simply making a funny face… :)
