In this post, do not think of me as pro-war or anti-war.
I have always had a disliking for these anti-war protestors out there picketing and marching and such. I was never able to put my finger on why… until last night.
It’s very simple actually. They are driven by their outrage and own free will to get out there and publicly display their distaste for the president, the government, war, and all that crap. Good. Good for them.
So what annoys me so much is that every time one is interviewed they always seem so unsure about what they’re saying! Really! That’s what it is! The way they talk, their speech pattern is very reminiscent of the compulsive liars I know. If you’ve ever known one… a bad one at that, you know what I’m talking about. It’s the sound of great uncertainty in their voice from the very depths of their larynx. It spews out of them like molasses running uphill. It comes out like nails against your face because you just KNOW they’re lying.
So that’s what I mean when I say speech pattern of these protestors. So why do they do it? Because they feel they should? Deep down, do they really feel this strong? Or has their lie veiled their own hidden truth… that they really don’t care all that much.
From my experience with compulsive liars, it’s a lost cause to think they’ll ever own up to a lie. So I just watch and laugh, hoping I can find a way to catch them in their lie, but they’re usually smarter than that and make sure that even though the lie is inconceivable, there’s no immediate proof available to shove it up their ass.

Reminder
Sometimes I need to play this for myself just to remember what it feels like to smile. And it doesn't just make me smile because of the message (though it never fails) but because someone took the time to get her to record it for me.
