I had a search referral from someone searching on Google for “he always wanted to say things, but no one listened.”
It’s the dog-gone poem again!
So I searched for it myself and it turns out this poem is an urban legend of sorts. There is no real story behind it! Everyone has a different version of who wrote it and where it was written and when it was written. Most of them revolve around a high schooler who commited suicide afterwords. But one page I came across had listed all the theories on it.

Reminder
Sometimes I need to play this for myself just to remember what it feels like to smile. And it doesn't just make me smile because of the message (though it never fails) but because someone took the time to get her to record it for me.
