“That’s all I can stands… and I can’t stands no more!!”

I’ll be going down for a little bit while I switch hosts.

Can I be honest with you?

Can I tell you about my wonderful night last night? And you won’t judge me?

I went out with John, Alan, and John’s brother-in-law last night to Club Wizzards. A strip club.

I’ve always wanted to — for the experience, you know. I ended up having a really nice experience.

To explain….

Granted… it’s very frustrating to have fully exposed breasts 3 inches from my face… but it was a nice feeling to have these women come up and talk to me. I know it’s their job and all, but to be treated as an equal to all other men in there — just as “special” — really boosted my confidence! Since I left I’ve just felt more secure and…. confident, for lack of another word. I’d like to go again sometime. The naked women are nice and all…. but it’s when they TALK to me that really makes the experience worth it. Of course, I didn’t have much of anything interesting to talk about. But whatever… they just want my money anyway.

Good night :)

To those who care, I saw John in the hospital about a week ago. He wasn’t in too good of shape. All the chemo and transplants he’s getting really knocked him out.

But to my surprise, he called me yesterday and was feeling SO good that he went OUT! Back to his old self pretty much. I’m hoping it will last, but soon he’ll be back getting more bloodwork done and who knows how he’ll feel.

I stumbled across a great find at Borders! A DVD of “Requiem for A Dream” … and “Pi” came free with it!

Pi is pretty interesting. Requiem I have yet to see but I know I’ll like it from what I hear about it. And their website is just… amazing.

All for now.

Back to work, work, work…

Turns out I *can* host anyones commenting. Great!

Well, I’m all tweaked out for today. I like the final product. ‘Course, you have to see the default template to appreciate it.

Thunder, lightning, and rain are surrounding me. My power just went out and I’m shutting down safely now.

Till next time………

I changed the commenting system. Using Enetations was REALLY slowing down the load time of my page. I’m sure you may have noticed. My hit count was reduced because of it, too. I don’t blame those who couldn’t wait. I couldn’t and I have a cable modem. I can’t imagine without……..

So now, I’ve ventured into working with cgi-bin files. The comments are locally hosted (meaning: it’s all controlled and stored on my site) and the load time has been brought back to normal.

I know with this program that I can create multiple accounts but I am not sure yet if someone off-site can use it, like Becky, who’s page is also slow to load because of Enetations.

Let me know if you know.

I still want to tweak the template of the comments window, so just know it’s a base design – not the final.

After setting Snazzypants up with a comments system, I got jealous and set them up for here.

Feel free to leave your comments about each blog. They are 100% viewable to the public, so please, don’t be a dummy and post something personal.

So I visit the store for a little bit to see how the new girl is doing on her first day.

I saw my key lab tech outside. She informed me that 2 rolls of someone’s negatives were just ruined.

After some searching around and asking some questions, I found out what the problem was.

The new girl had inserted the film into the machine wrong. They got stuck.

Way to go.

Well that was fun.

At about 2am this horrific shrieking of a fire alarm started sounding all throughout the building. It was bad enough inside the apartment, but when out in the hall I had to shut my ears it was so bad. Kate and I sat outside while some others gathered around. We were always under the impression we were the only ones who lived here because you barely ever saw anyone.

As it turns out, only 10 people or so gathered outside. It’s weird. Half the people didn’t even wake up, I assume. Turns out someone left something burning on the stove or something and though it created a little bit of smoke (on the basement floor) it was nothing serious and within a half hour they let everyone back in.

Quite a lovely experience. We were able to meet some of the others and were pleasantly surprised to find a good mix of people — all seemingly very nice and friendly.

Last night I was at the Lansdowne Fireworks with Suzanne and her husband Brian. had a good time. I haven’t seen her since January, I think it was.

I was able to take some pictures…. four FRICKEN rolls of stupid fireworks! I’m such an idiot. Anyway, They all turned out well. All very boring, but I will be posting the not-so-boring ones tomorrow (hopefully).

Hired someone new at the shop. Hope things start turning around. Off tomorrow. All going well… mostly.

I hope to stop by and see John tomorrow. I haven’t seen him in a while. I’d be lying if I said he was doing good. But I really don’t think now is the time or place to discuss it.

I had a search referral from someone searching on Google for “he always wanted to say things, but no one listened.”

It’s the dog-gone poem again!

So I searched for it myself and it turns out this poem is an urban legend of sorts. There is no real story behind it! Everyone has a different version of who wrote it and where it was written and when it was written. Most of them revolve around a high schooler who commited suicide afterwords. But one page I came across had listed all the theories on it.

http://www.qis.net/~jschmitz/afu/yellow.htm

Crazy!

I got an email from a guy named James from Realize Design about the poem.

His email reads:

“the poem was turned in to a teacher by a twelfth grade student in New York…it is no know however if the boy wrote the poem alone, by himself or not, it is know however that the boy committed suicide shortly after that…nothing needed saying anymore…”

Very well put, James. He added that the poem was an article in the New York Times. “I came across it about 15 or 16 years back.”

Wow. I can’t believe it’s that old of a poem! If the NYT claims this theory on the poem to be true, then Jesus… what a story!

Would you believe that I am actually working on a song?! I’ve had this melody for at least a year. I’ve had these words since April when I first posted them on this blog.

(“From the Ghosts That Haunt Me” — Archived 4/16/02)

Finally, they both have found a partner. I haven’t quite decided if I like it or not. I need to keep tweaking it until it sounds up to par. I might start to get bored and toss it like the rest of ‘em, but hey…. i’ts nice to be working on a song again!
